Katherine Irish knew she was an artist from an
early age. She attended DePauw University, Tyler
School of Art in Rome and an internship with
Willard Midgette in New York as an undergraduate.
She earned a MPS in Art Therapy from Pratt
Institute. Her desire to pursue a career in art led
her to New Mexico. Previously painting in oil, she
began to work seriously in pastel in 2002 and has
studied with Albert Handell. Katherine is an award-
winning artist who exhibits in juried and
invitational exhibits across the country.
Katherine says: “I have made a conscious decision
to contribute beauty to the world through my art. I
find camaraderie with landscape artists who work
to reflect the beauty of nature despite a backdrop
of world crisis. “
Ron Lohrding is a retired PhD
Mathematician/Scientist. Fused glass design
emphasizing dichroic glass is his art medium.
He is stimulated by the dichroic brilliance of
the glass and uses the aesthetically appearing
ancient golden ratio and the mathematically
related Fibonacci sequence for proportions in
his design. The golden ratio (sometimes called
the Devine or natural ratio) was used a great
deal in the art of Leonardo Da Vinci and
Michelangelo. The eye pleasing use of
rectangles by architect Frank Lloyd Wright is
also inspiring. He uses shapes, sizes, colors and
reflectance to try to produce visional poetry in
the creation of unique Wall Art, Wall Crosses,
Mirrors, Picture Frames, Trays, Plates, and eye
catching Pendants
